Gold Mountain

This image is a play on the 19th century Chinese immigrant nickname for the western coast of North America and its potential for riches and prosperity.

In this image of a mountain shoreline, discarded life jackets wash ashore as tired migrants rest on the rocky shore, while the Coast Guard sits in the water. 

The mountain in the background had originally had snow touches which I have now replaced with gold leaf.
