You Open Your Hand

This small 8x8 painting is painted wet on wet oil, developing layer on top of layer with the technical problem of how to do this without causing the colours to run into each other. 

The background is dark but the hand as the positive space has a visceral organic quality like Rembrandt's Flayed Ox.
